Liverpool transfer news LIVE PULISIC CLAIM Chelsea’s £58million signing of Christian Pulisic has been branded 'bizarre’ by ex-Premier League star Stan Collymore. "Chelsea's signing of Christian Pulisic is bizarre," he told the People. "I mean, why spend £58million on him rather than progressing the talent they've already got? "Yes, he's a very good technical footballer, he's very easy on the eye, and he comes with the added bonus of potentially being the first acknowledged world-class superstar from the US. "But if he was Slovakian, Irish or Slovenian, I'm not sure Chelsea would have gone for him. "And I don't think Manchester City or Liverpool will be quaking in their boots, either. "All in a week when Callum Hudson-Odoi is targeted by Bayern Munich. "I just don't see where the business sense lies in spending sums like that at the same time as selling young players, just as they did with Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne, without giving them an extended chance." ROBERTSON CLAIM Charlie Adam has claimed he told Stoke to sign Andy Robertson from Hull before he eventually joined Liverpool for just £8million. “I said to Stoke at the time we should have bought him for £8m – it was cheap,” he told the Scotsman. “Liverpool could afford to throw that at him though, and if it hadn’t worked it wouldn’t have been a gamble for them. “What’s that £8m worth now? Put a five in front of it at least – it’s probably £60m, £70m, for a left-back. “Fair play to him. And the biggest thing for him now will be if they can win that league – they’re in a great position.” £27M TRABZONSPOR TEEN Liverpool are close to signing Trabzonspor teen star Abdulkadir Omur, Express Sport understands. Omur is one of the hottest properties in European football after a series of impressive displays over the last year. Manchester City have also looked at Omur but Liverpool are the frontrunners. And Express Sport understands the deal could be dependent on whether Adam Lallana remains at the club. Lallana has struggled with injury, is no longer a regular in the team and has interest from former club Southampton and Turkish side Fenerbahce. FABINHO QUESTION MARKS Liverpool legend Graeme Souness says he is yet to be convinced by midfielder Fabinho. Fabinho joined the Reds in the summer for £44million from Monaco. But he didn’t make an appearance in the Premier League until October 20. Jurgen Klopp has used Fabinho more in recent weeks but Souness still has doubts about him. "Liverpool don't have what I would call milky players," he told the Sunday Times. "Before the season began they identified midfield as an area that needed strengthening and brought in Fabinho and Naby Keita. "I am yet to be fully convinced by Fabinho and wonder why it has taken such a long time for him to get up to speed. "He has played well since getting into the team but he still has a bit to go."
